    Smoked Turkey #2

After tagging one opening day, I went back to work on my second gobbler on Tuesday. I headed to a pressured WMA with a few birds and was not disappointed as I heard several. I had one within 50 yards 3 times but could not close the deal. At one time he gobbled 6 times in a row without a breath! LOL! He was tore up but no turkey, just gravy!

Wednesday I headed to some ground in Eastern Ky and worked two strutters into about 50 yards but too far for the ole smoke pole. They were with hens and would not come any closer. Later in the morning I got setup on a hot gobbler and had him coming in when 5 deer came between the strutting tom and me. They blew out taking the gobbler with them. I went back on Thursday and finally called him far enough away from his hens to take a 10 yard shot. 23lbs 10.75" Beard and 1.25" spurs. The only problem now is, I am done for the season! Dang!

Hey man, no problem. I completely understand, you are doing the right thing for sure. I'm sure we will hook up eventually and put a wackin on some fish. It is just a matter of time.
