Nice fish Mark,im ready for some of those myself when this river and weather cooperate.
No Chuck that one was from Cumberland. Had a few other shorts and another about that same size that pulled off. Also had a five pound Walleye that evening and a bunch of bass. I ate the striper and the Eye, of course the bass are still swimming. I was gonna let the striper go but he was whipped and I was skeered he'd become a floater. Thanks for the comments guys, I'm trying to learn this night striper thing, I'm beginning to catch on a little bit.
John the river is in good shape right now but man this weather is a bear, monsoon after monsoon. I heard a stat last night from Ken Shultz on 11 and he said we have already had 60% of our normal rainfall for the year and it's only the middle of May. We stand at right at 10 inches above normal for the year and we are 27.6 inches above normal since the first of last October.
This rain is getting a little rediculous thats for sure.Cant get anything done that you have to and cant get out and do the things you want to.Im glad i have a boat because the way my yard looks to much more and ill be taking the procraft to work.
the entire country has needed the rain so i for one am not complaining. hopefully the deep southeast has also gotten ahead of the game as they were in deep drought. the rains and storms have also kept the lake temps from shooting up and we have had a real nice spring fishing season so far. again, i am HAPPY to see the rain given how dry it has been. btw NICE striper!!
