KY-08 Green River Lake 5-17 results May. 20, 2008

May 17th saw a beautiful day on Green River lake this year. While the wind was a bit strong at times, the sun was out and the fish were biting. Most teams brought limits to the scales, and there was only one team that failed to find at least one keeper.

The team of Blackwell and Rice solidified their points lead on the rest of the field, bringing the winning sack to the scales. Their 16.53 pound limit easily took first, anchored by a nice 4.24 pound largemouth. They cought their fish early and often, flipping jigs in shallow wood cover. They had their limit before 9:00 AM, and culled at least twice through the afternoon.

The team of Cone and Morgan took second honors with a 12.52 pound limit. They caught the big fish of the tournament, a 4.37 pound largemouth, with less than an hour of fishing time left. They culled through 2 limits of bass fishing main lake broken rock banks 3 - 12 feet deep. They caught most their fish on texas rigged baby brush hogs, but the big bass took a jig with a paca-chunk trailer.

We look forward to seeing everyone out again on June 21.
