Full moon = crawdad mating which = smallmouth.

Planning a week trip to the big lake during late July or sometime in August. I would like to ledge fish during the day for largemouth, and fish for smallmouth at night. The question is.... Is it better to fish at night for smallmouth during the full moon phase or a new moon phase. Is more light better, or less light better? Or does it really matter?
Full moon = crawdad mating which = smallmouth.
Now that is the 64 thousand dollar question. Both are good for sure but I tend to prefer the full moon just from the stand point you can see some what depending on cloud cover which makes fishing a bit easier. Fishing the new moon can be really tough -- there is no light at all and judging your distance to the bank is difficult. You look at your graph and it blinds you. I have caught fish on both phases but I prefer the light. To be honest I prefer any phase as long as I get a chance to go. :-)
