taking boys to guist creek lake monday

We are going to try and catch some hybrids. We are not tourney fisherman, we would like to just catch some fish.Any advice on the hybrids would be great . Right now I am thinking of going by dam and dropping chicken livers to about 1 foot from bottom. Does this sound like a good idea?

That sounds like a great idea, if you want to catch some nice catfish. State record bullhead and white catfish both came out of that lake. State record white is 1 lb., 0.82 oz. Sounds breakable to me. Hybrid bite there is generally slow this time of year. But ask the guys at the marina, Brad and Charlie. If anybody's catching any, they'll tell you. Good Luck.
