Does anyone have one of those humminbird side imagers? If so how does it work? Do you like it? Im going to get a new gps/sonar and am looking at that 797 humminbird. Thanks.

I just picked up my 997 and will be installing it on my boat tonight. I will let you know after this weekend. I am sure there will be a bunch of things to play with as far as settings go but once adjusted it should be cool.
i have one and i love it. i seen a lawn chair in the ohio river over the weekend. you would not belive the diffrence once you ajust to the view. it is awsome.

Does it make any difference in reception if you use the internal gps or the external?
have a fishing friend with one, definitely worth the money and the time to fine tune/get used to it. good luck. going to be my next upgrade for my boat.
I have the 997 and it us unbelievable........worth every penny!!! The detail is CRAZY GOOD....I can see bluegill beds and can even tell you which ones have fish in them. Buy it.
does the transducer have to be in a fixed mounted position ? like not on the trolling motor in order to work? i've heard this before........
best mounted in a fixed position on the transom, and it has to have an unobstructed view out to each side. I mounted mine on the bottom of my jack plate. It won't pick up though on pad, but I have a 2nd hull thru transducer I switch to then.
I have a 997 and Love it......Transducer mounted on back of the transom. Ive graphed a truck, several boats, a tractor and what looked like to be a dog house. Pretty amazing......
