I was fishing in a resovoir and while fishing a c-rig i must have gone over thousands of some sort of shells and i hooked 2 of them. It was a swirl type looking shell not flat like a clam. What are these and what does it mean? Mussel shells maybe? Do bass or any other fish like to be near these. It was about 2 inches long. Thanks for the help.

sorry no pic
Sounds like an aquatic snail. No hazard to fish, if that is the case. Mussel shells are similar to clam shells.

Worried me for a second thinking you had come across some zebra muscles. Luckily the one's you found are too big, Zebras don't get any bigger than a fingernail.
