I am heading to C-Land for a 3 day weekend and taking my family.
I was hoping to get up at first light and try to catch some striper.
I have some gear to fish deep, but am unsure of whether I will be able to catch live bait.
I will be staying near Burnside.
I will also be heading to the river to trout fish. I know we can catch some off the bank, but I am hoping to get my boat in and drift down river a little.
Any advice to get my family on some fish on the lake and river would be greatly appreciated.
I don't know what the bait situation is in Burnside, but I'm getting good bait at Conley now. Expect a long ride to find good striper fishing. Rocks have started to move down the lake, and the past couple of days the best bite has been below Harmon Ck. The trout fishing is fantastic. Very low flows, and it's perfect for wading now. The usual spots like the end of the service road below the dam, Helms landing, Kendall, etc are producing tons of fish. Good luck.
