    Scoring in the Olympics???

Is it just me or is some of this scoring, i.e. gymnastics, boxing ect., look a little slanted towards the home team. I personally thought Alicia Sacramone got screwed last night with the scores she received versus the China girl that looked 12, lol. The China girl landed on her knees on the second vault, huh. Oh well maybe it's just me and oh yea is that little Alicia a looker or what, and she's 20 before any of you start beating me up on that one, lol.

That has been a big topic of discussion, Olympics and judging. I think there was a boxer who should have won the fight a few Olympics ago and they gave it to the other guy and caused a big up roar.

We wondered the same thing when we watched it. Hey maybe the old NBA Ref. who got caught cheating has some in-laws on the scoring board? Lol.

Complete total disarray for the scoring in my book as well.....Strange that China has won almost 40 Gold medals to what every one else has won...... Go figure....

They said she tied the China girl for first place...In my book that should represent both girls getting a Gold Medal then.....

Those two Chinese girls sure don't look 16 years old to me...Couldn't be more than 12 or 13 years old in my book....Need to look at their size frame compared to the USA girl and then also compare to the two Chinese women who were escorting the winners to the Podium for their Medals..... Something really fishy about the Chinese Girls and their ages......Then again if your the Host Country and you control who looks at what documents pertaining to age and birth certificates...Then Hands down...you present what you want to present, to those who question the age verification....

    Re: Scoring in the Olympics???

The boxing scoring has been ridiculous. China won something like 14 out of their first 16 fights, that right there is unusual. China is not and never has been a world power in boxing. Basically all of the gold medals in international boxing go to the U.S., Cuba and the former soviet countries.

I don't think it's a coincidence that we've done a lot better in the non-judged sports, like swimming and such, where the results aren't a matter of opinion.

Also, I was a little ticked at the fact that they're taking baseball out of the Olympics, unless it gets renewed. Then, I was watching a game and I saw that, if the game goes into extra innings, they start off each inning with players on base, in order to "move the game along." The heck with that! If they're going to mangle the rules like that, then let them drop it! We'll just keep it as the Great American Pastime, and they can keep on playing badminton.

    Go Bats!

If the game goes to extra innings, then each team has a runner on first and second base with no outs.....That ain't baseball....

    Re: Scoring in the Olympics???

The scoring in gymnastics, boxing, diving, etc has always been way out of whack. I remember in the Olympics a long time ago when the scoring was political. The Ruskie judge would give his country's competitor a great score and hammer the U.S athelete, and the American judge would do just the opposite.

They don't seem to have made much progress since then. Still pretty screwed up. I'd hate to put in 10 or 12 years hard work and see it rewarded with a bad decision by a biased or inexperienced judge.

Gymnastics scoring has always been a joke, and always will be. Way too subjective.
