I caught heck from my wife the other night. Does that count?

Stayed home this weekend because with the hot weather and no rain it seemed a waste of time to try my usual spots. The bass bite is slow indeed on creeks and rivers, and the Cumberland River is dropping back to a trickle again. Just wondering if anyone is having luck anywhere, except late at night. This weather seems likely to hang around a while and I'd sure like to go somewhere next weekend with the hope of catching something other than a sunburn.

Have been catching some good blues and flatheads, but mostly at night. Lots cooler and no traffic on the river/lake..warren
The striper bite has been pretty good for me most days this past week using downriggers & dollflys.
I caught some bluegill, a nice crappie, an almost keeper smallmouth and a 15" sauger tonight in a couple of hours before dark from my kayak.
Did about the same last week with a few white bass thrown in for good measure.
I know most of you all are after bass, but that's a good trip for me. I like to catch fish.
3 small bass at Cedar Creek. Lost my last Red Eye Shad and no more fish after that.
About what I figured. We'll all be catching heck from the wives if we keep hanging around the house. Hope the rain in the next couple days wakes up the fix.
We piddled around near Grider Hill/Dam area on Cumberland Friday night with next to no success. We were throwing tubes for smallies and was nearly skunked.
Even the goto farm pond has slowed. We were catching 30-40 green carp in June/July but the last 2 trips we have only managed 6-7 per trip. In June/July the Bluegill would wear that Lizard out, driving you nuts to determine whether a bass or bluegill, couldn't hardly get a bite from the bluegill last night. Surface action was heavy with fish popping (bass and bluegill)everywhere before but its dead now
I fished the cumberland river a couple weeks ago for the first time. It was a real nice change of scenary from the ohio river. Whats a good limit of bass there? the numbers were good but i never could get quality bites.Stayed home this weekend because with the hot weather and no rain it seemed a waste of time to try my usual spots.
