Seems I put my cover on the boat while the floor was still a little damp and got some mold popping up. wondering whats best way to clean it? its an 04 Triton.
I would wash the carpet with soap and water, just whenever you wash your boat next, the soap should kill the mold.
Mix a little vinegar and water and scrub it into your carpet. Then take the pressure washer (fan nozzle) and spray it off. It will bring life back to matted up dirty boat carpet. Pick a sunny day and start in the morning so it has time to dry off all day.
The only thing that will KILL MOLD is bleach, CLOROX is what I have used as I have done the same thing, putting on cover over damp carpet. I followed the instructions on the container using 2 TABLESPOONS PER GALLON OF WATER, then putting it into a small spray bottle and saturating the area.
Let it stand for a few minutes (15/20) then rinse with clear water thoroughly.
That mixture is strong enough to kill mold, but should not bleach out your carpet. If you use soap, it will leave a residue and when the carpet gets wet again, you will have a sudsy boat.
straight Clorox bleach or the clorox2 colorsafe stuff?
regular bleach is the only thing that kept it away for me
