Celebrate National Hunting and Fishing Day with fun,
family events Sept. 27 at the Salato Wildlife Education Center

Frankfort, Ky. – Throw a tomahawk, shoot a bow, compete in a wild game cook-off or get weighed like a black bear in celebration of National Hunting and Fishing Day at the Salato Wildlife Education Center in Frankfort from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27. The free event features a variety of family-friendly activities and interactive exhibits that kids will love.

Try your aim with a bow fishing simulator, shoot an air rifle and feel what it’s like to be weighed, measured and “tagged” with the same equipment used by wildlife biologists in their black bear research. Fans of the “Kentucky Afield” television show also won’t want to miss a lunchtime appearance by Tim Farmer.
