    Rough River Traffic

We'd never taken the boat to Rough River, so we went yesterday. We enjoyed our trip, but there was a TON of traffic there. (We put in at Axtel.)

Is there an area of Rough River that has less traffic, as a general rule?

    Thanks!

If it's nice out probably not. Wait for some cool weather and they will all clear out.

I was on the lake Saturday and Sunday fishing. Compared to 2 weeks ago the lake seemed empty . Did you go toward North Fork or Laurel Branch?

Wait until Oct. 20 when they start pulling it down, it will be done turning over and the traffic will be gone. I've had some of my best days on Rough when they are pulling water.

Okay, we'll keep that in mind and give it another go. Thanks for your feedback.

Gosh, I'm afraid I don't even know where North Fork or Laurel Branch is. We put in at Axtel. Sounds as if we didn't wander far enough out on the lake. I'll have to get a look at a map before we try again.

    Thanks for your feedback!

Will do. It's very pretty there, so I'd like to try again. Thanks!
