    Beginner In Rod Building

Hey guys I need some help. This winter while Im going crazy not being able to fish I wanna try my hand at rod building. I need some info on where I can find rod blanks, handles, and all the other parts you need. Also, what kind of tools am I going to need? If theres anything else I should know about rod building please feel free to inform me. Thanks guys.

I think the mudhole was recommended to me a while back. I received a couple magazines but never pursued it.

Call Paul at @ P&J Tackle 1-865-376-5950. He builds rods and also sells everything you will need. He is always willing to help out. I have built several and if you want feel free to give me a call 1502-664-5921 Ryan.

I agree completely with this. Check out their website, they have a section called rodbuilding101 that has quite a few free video's and PDF files that give A LOT of information. They also sell a bunch of different books and video's on the subject. I would suggest buying Tom Kirkman's "Rod Building Guide". It's pretty inexpensive and easy to read and gives a great basic tutorial.
