    Re: Guide For Choosing Line

Thanks for posting the site. Looks like some really good recomendations. I have saved it to my favorites and will check it against what I am using and when I get ready to change lines.

    Thanks again,

    Grumpy

Hmmm.......that could get awfully confusing for a fella that likes to give every thing a try eh....I think sometimes we can get too caught up in all the details and tools we read about instead of the things we have confidence in...Personally,if they ain't hittin a jig, worm or chub then i'll throw a spinnerbait a few times.....If that don't do it and somebody ain't told me they were catchin fish on a crankbait then I just assume the fish I came after just aren't going to cooperate that day.

Makes you wonder how I can run a successful guide service using only one type line, not even mentioned in the article, and actually catch fish doesn't it?

    Re: Guide For Choosing Line

Most of the work-a-day fishermen i know who just have the weekend to fish, use mono line of a test that they happen to like and use it for most of their fishing situations....some might adjust the test to a lighter line if the water is a little clear
but generally they dont do that.....They just accept clearer water, tougher fishing.

Geez, guiys, Todd posts a web site to try and be helpful too his fellow fishermen -- IF YOU DON'T NEED IT, THEN DON'T USE IT BUT YOU DON'T NEED NIT PICK IT EITHER. Maybe someone that could use it will not bother to look at it because you downplay it so much.

    That's my opinion,

Really wasn't trying to nit pik anything....more of a tongue in cheek post on my part...sorry if I offended you. The article is not bad...I would advise anyone wanting more insight into line choice to read it...but I would also point out that not all lines are mentioned in the article.

    Re: Guide For Choosing Line

No apologies necessary for me, everybody is entitled to their opinion. Like Grumpy said if you don't need it, don't use it. Heck I don't throw most of that stuff either but somebody here might. I ran across it last night, thought it was some decent reading.
