    Thanksgiving

May everyone on this site have a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Some time tomorrow if you are forunate enough to be with friends and family stop and give real thought to how lucky we are even in these tough times. We for the most part have food on the table, heat and clothes on our backs. I know that life should be and is better than that, but for a lot of folks it isn't. I know it sounds korny but I sometimes take a heckuva lot for granted and it takes seeing or hearing about someone I know not being so forunate to bring reality back... Don't eat tooooo much Joe G

This year is going to be pretty special for us. My girlfriend's son has been training in California getting ready for an Afganistan tour so he will be home for Thanksgiving (we are told) but soon after he is gone to serve. He is leaving his little 2 year old girl so I know it's gonna be tough for him.

So no matter your status in life or political beliefs these young men and women do some tough time for us and because of them, past and present, we enjoy alot of freedom. I'll say a prayer that hits closer to home this time at the Thanksgiving table. May God Bless our troops.

Well said Joe, sometimes things just need to be put in perspective.

DJD, make sure that you tell that young man that his service is appreciated and he will get some special prayers sent his way from Shepherdsville.
