Had a little problem yesterday with the tilt/trim. When I put the boat on the trailer, I could not trim the motor down with either switch. I could hear the relay click and the pump run. After 10 minutes or so it decided to work. Came home and monkeyed some with it this morning. Can't find a leak anywhere. Now it's working fine????? Raised an lowered it 2 dozen times with no problem. Any ideas?? Boat is a 2006 Triton that I have owned since it was new.

Thanks Dyna. I'll replace those and see what happens. Better safe than sorry.
If that ever happens again, you can swap the relays and it may work. If it is a relay there is one for up and one for down. If it will go one way and not the other swap and try em may save ya a fishing trip sometime.
Mine did the same thing and it was the in-line fuse for the trim/tilt. It had blown but the wire inside didn't blow apart. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. Replace the fuse and everything is now OK.

Had something similar happen 2 years ago but it was a fuse. Happened on Rough, had to have my dad call the guy I bought the boat from and tell me what it was, actually happened to him a few times and he had two new fuses in a toolbox in the boat that he left in there. He told me where to look and bingo, has been fine but I still wonder what was causing that to happen but since then Dad installed a breaker that will flip before it burns out a fuse, breaker has never flipped either.
Hey guys, thanks for all of the help! I gave it a good going over yesterday, but didn't check the fuse. I'll give it a look Friday afternoon.
