    Johnny morris bait casting reel

Does anybody know how to remove the handle from a johnny morris elite bait caster, i hace the part breakdown but not the know how like to lubricate the gears with grease. I thought that you just loosen the drag all the way out and the handle can be pulled of. The handle did not come off that way.

Just tighten the drag as tight as you can get it and push the handle straight in towards the reel. Should feel it pop and then unscrew backwards.

LOL!! I hate it when they're right - it always seems wrong

BTW I have 4 of these reels and absolutely love them - Until the finish starts to wear off then it is downhill. Don't forget to put tape over the holes on the spool it is very important on these reels! My suggestion is to keep some wax on them and never hang a plastic bait anywhere close to the reel the salt destroys them!! They cast smooth and reel in even smoother but once the finish gets a ding you'd better seal it up.

    You've been warned!! lol

Maybe a stupid question but why do you tape the holes on the spool ?
