Does anybody know how to remove the handle from a johnny morris elite bait caster, i hace the part breakdown but not the know how like to lubricate the gears with grease. I thought that you just loosen the drag all the way out and the handle can be pulled of. The handle did not come off that way.

Just tighten the drag as tight as you can get it and push the handle straight in towards the reel. Should feel it pop and then unscrew backwards.Does anybody know how to remove the handle from a johnny morris elite bait caster, i hace the part breakdown but not the know how like to lubricate the gears with grease. Thanks NewRiver
It took me 3 days of prying and proddin, to get to the point I had to call BPS and the lady laughed at me as she was explaining this.... I guess their right "men don't ask for directions" LOL
Same thing here............until I READ the dang manual..........which my WIFE suggested........
I promptly smacked her, and told her to go fix me some dinner.......
Later,
Geo
BTW.......I now live in my boat in the back yard..........
how do yo like it....just got 2 of them....will find out when weather breaks......
Geo u got room in that boat for two? I like your style....
LOL!! I hate it when they're right - it always seems wrong
BTW I have 4 of these reels and absolutely love them - Until the finish starts to wear off then it is downhill. Don't forget to put tape over the holes on the spool it is very important on these reels! My suggestion is to keep some wax on them and never hang a plastic bait anywhere close to the reel the salt destroys them!! They cast smooth and reel in even smoother but once the finish gets a ding you'd better seal it up.
You've been warned!! lol
Maybe a stupid question but why do you tape the holes on the spool ?LOL!! I hate it when they're right - it always seems wrong
