Water is murky, the river has come down at least 6 ft since sunday. If you're boating, there are some new snags, a few of them hardly leave a ripple. These observations were based on my launch at burkesville, and heading up stream to crocus creek.

Hey guys,
Just wanted to know if anyone could tell me how its looking around the dam right now. I've looked at the generation schedules and what not, it looks like the river is down around 10 ft or so since I was down last Fri. and the discharge is way down from the 20,000+ cfs to about 3420 cfs now.
I'm just unsure as to the improvements that those 10 feet will give me in terms of access. It was tough finding good spots with the water up that high last weekend, and I just don't want to make another trip for more of the same.
Appreciate anything info you can tell me,
CRT

Wish I could tell you, but I haven't been since Jan. Although the flow looks right for fishing. I've always found if it's 12,000 or below then it'll fish. Once you're above that you're fighting the boat and current and it's not much fun for me. I don't put in at the dam...I mainly put in at Helms and Winfreys so I couldn't tell you anything about the dam but you should be alright.
If you're fishing trout then you'll need to get down to them...weight and leader with a 3" worm on a small hook works well. Let it tap off the bottom.
Hope you get a chance to go.
