I always caught them in creeks while wading. I once caught one 11.25" and threw it back, no pic or anything. Could have gotten a certificate.
I was using 1/32 roostertails on ul using 1 lbs test. AAAAH, the good ole days.
Also we (Dad and I) used to catch them in Nolin River, above the lake, on worms below bobbers.
Several folks say they are good eating, but never could bring myself to eat something so pretty.
