What does it cost to launch your boat from the Olio Road ramp? Thanks!
Last year it was 11 until memorial day then it went to 27 I believe. They have raised it before memorial day before.
Thats Crazy
Last year it was $12 all during the week and $27 on the weekends. If u come off the water early in the summer before noon u get half your fee back. Unless u have some tourney their i don't fish the weekends ever!!
Why would you ever pay $27 to launch a boat? wow...anything more than $5 is just plain stupid.
the most ive ever paid to fish is 25 and thats for a year long pass. is it a private owned boat ramp or what? whatever it is, its nuts

yeah, what he said. I'd just stay away from Geist if I were you.
WOW..not one of these replies was correct.
It is $11 to launch your boat anytime through the week. On the weekends...it is $27 and if you get your boat out by 1100 am...you get $15 back. Never a problem, on the weekends the pleasure crafts all get out there by noon and you wouldnt want to be out there anyway.
I was there yesterday and the fees are posted on a sign as you leave the ramp.

I live 8 miles from Morse and it's the same price. Why would I pay this? When gas was crazy I could pay $27 or drive 1 hour plus to go to another lake and spend $60 plus in gas pulling my pontoon. I just had a hard time justifying paying that much for gas. If the gas says where it's at I'll go elsewhere.
i understand more with the pontoon, while going out to have fun with family and friends. i wouldnt pay $27 to fish cuz quite frankly, i can fish in my own back yard for free. as far as fishing, there is always another place to go. i can see where thats not true with a pleasure boat.

Geist and Morse are owned by the water company which leases the ramp to the marina. They are semi-private lake and are managed by IDNR, the town police patrols them along with the DNR, the resident gets to launch their boat for free. They set the price so high on the weekend to keep the number of non-resident boaters down. They're the only lakes within the Indy metro area large enough for pleasure boating. Therefore, on the weekend it's nutkingfut anyway despite the outrageous ramp fee.
