Had some time to burn yesterday after dropping the kid off at school, so I decided to head to some of my old stomping grounds and fish some ponds/lakes. The temp was awesome, mid 60's with a nice breeze. First pond I got to, I consider my crappie pond, although I have caughten an occasional nice LM out of there. Little 1/64 oz gold head white jig (tied by yours truly) about 2 foot down is all it took. First cast, my bobber had barely rested on the water and...slip..under she went! MAN IT FELT GOOD!!! Caught around 30 keeper crappies (but I let them go) I was just in it for the fix. After I got tired of crappies, I headed to a local strip mine lake that a friend of mine owns. As I came over the ridge and looked down, the most beautiful thing I have seen in months....largemouth stacked up everywhere! Water was a little discolored, but not bad. Went with my old standby...1/4 oz black/gold spinnerbait. First cast, 3.0lbs....2nd cast 4.2lbs...3rd cast 3.4lbs....you get the idea! Now I'm back at work and all I can think of is when I can get back out. Looks the weather is just getting better and better. IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!

Man...nice report in my opinion...just some good clean fun!
Sounds like some good places. I caught 8 decent keepers from two ponds yesterday afternoon as well, it felt gooooooooood!!!!!!
nice day man! very nice!!
It was fun. It may not be challenging fishing, but is sure is fun! After a rough winter it sure felt nice to just be out after 'em again. Hoping to hit Rough or Barren this next week and do some serious fishing.
