I was watching a program on the Military Channel, and I normally 'tune out' when the commercials come on, but I kinda perked up when I saw this one.
There is an organization called "Honor Flight" that provides transportation to WWII vets so that they can visit the WWII Memorial in Washington, DC. The organization is non-profit. I don't make many donations these days due to the crappy economy, and the penny-pinching that goes along with it, but this outfit sounds like it is a good one.
My dad was a WWII vet, he was on one of the ships that supported the Anzio beach landing. I'm a veteran of the navy myself, served on a sub in the "Cold War."

That's awesome. My father was a "Fightin Sea Bee" in Guam, Sia Pan, all over the South Pacific. My father is gone now and I sure miss him. The World War II generation was the greatest generation of American's to ever walk shoe leather, JMO.
Thankyou to you and your father for serving!
