What time George I want to see it.
Have you guy's seen the story they did on Megadisasters I believe on the history channel? Wolfcreek was one WOW!!! Chuck
Chuckster, that would be real bad, real bad. ACOE says that at summer pool if the big C was emptied it would cover the entire state of Kentucky with three inches of water......
I saw the KY Afield episode this past weekend. Really good story on the current construction, history, and what could happen if it failed. They said failure would be a biblical type disaster and in some areas of Nashville could have water 3 stories high
Yes.......
It's a SHAME someone has not put serious effort into this before now.
They said with the technology of the time, Wolf Creek was one of the BEST ever built.
Now, they say, it is POOR construction, in a POOR area, and the methods of the past, have serious problems.
Their plan will definitely help, but I think a WHOLE new dam, downstream will be built within the next 30-40 years.

At summer pool if the dam broke they said the flooding downstream would be of "Biblical Proportion". The Tennessee Titans football stadium in Nashville would have 30 feet of water in it is unbelievable at how much water is in the Big C when she is full.
ky afield usually aires at 11 30 pm every week night on CWKYT..... channel 99 for me...
They seem pretty confident that the new wall will solve all the issues. This was very interesting look at this problem. Great show!
Amazing......the damage that would occur if WCD were to collapse. All the water in the lake at the moment can't be helping matters much. I'm sure the gates are wide open right now. Had a trip planned to go to Big South Fork and try to hook up with some river smallies (19 mile canoe trip), but it looks like I won't be going now. There is even more rain forcasted for the weekend......
Don't go to the Big South Fork anytime soon. I have been there quite a bit and it is an awesome canoe spot, but really dangerous when high.
I bet this rain really changed things on the river there too, so beware of that when you do go.
Best smallie stream in the Southeast in my opinion.
