    Big South Fork

Some friends and myself are canoeing down the Big South Fork over Memorial Day Weekend. We're making about a 22 mile run. Hopefully, we'll run into some nice brownfish, with some walleye and sauger in between. I'm not very experienced with this type of fishing, although I have had some luck with roostertails in the past. I plan on throwing some smaller jigs and shakey heads too. I was hoping you guys might be able to help me out with some lures I should take along. Thanks in advance for any advice and help.

If the water is on the clear side, I would throw some small topwaters (1/8 oz. buzzbaits if murky too) and soft jerkbaits-your choice senko stick type worms and tube jigs. I have had luck down there with zara spooks (puppy size) when there is any bait around, too. For the sauger and walleye, small cranks and curly tail jigs workbest for me. Good luck and enjoy, it is one beautiful place!
