Pretty sure thats not an Asian carp
You are correct, Sir. I posted then could not figure out how to edit it. I did the same thing on the Discussion Board. Oh well. It's a Crap, I mean a Carp, and it was fun to catch on 6Lb line.
Well technically it IS an Asian Carp. ALL carp originate in Asia. That fish is non native. Common names do **** and can lead to confusion.
For instance the fish we generally associate the term with "Asian Carp" are the big head carp, H. nobilis, and it's closely related cousing the silver carp, H. molitrix, but that doesnt mean calling the posted fish an "asian carp" is incorrect.
However, the fish posted is most often called the "common carp" , Cyprinus carpio.
B.I.N.G.O. we have a winner, common everyday Mudmarlin.Well technically it IS an Asian Carp. ALL carp originate in Asia. That fish is non native. Common names do **** and can lead to confusion.

Yes it is a commen carp or German carp as they are called in Europe, as they love to fish for them over there, they even have tourneys for them. Maybe someone should have a big carp tourney with all the fish caught going to the Chinese. They sure are fun on lite tackle, used to go down to Beaver Creek Bridge on Siddens rd at Barren and take a can of corn an ultra lite, some hooks/sinkers and a six pack and have a ball.
