I am going to Indian Lake in northern Ohio next weekend, has anyone on the board ever been there?
Do you think the fishing is really that bad???
I grew up in Dayton and fished it fairly often in my younger days. It's not a bad place to fish, just be careful running - it's shallow and easy to tear up your boat. I had an uncle who ran a boat shop there and he did a lot of lower untis that were ripped off of the boat. The canals off of the lake have lily pads to fish. It does hold good bass.
I fish Indian Lake alot and fishing is real good right now. lots of fish being caught around the lake on many different patterns. fish main lake rocks with cranks and jigs, craws. most fish are in the 1 lb. to 2 lb. range. flip lily pads with your favorite plastic baits. black, black neon, green pumpkin, black/blue are all good colors there. good luck. I'll be there this weekend also.
I will have only about a day and a half at the lake... The INDIANLAKE.com website has a lot comments about how much pressure (fishing and boating) the lake gets. My brother in law has a pontoon on the lake, but it would be nice to fish from my own boat... It is a 6 1/2 hour drive in the lake and I don't know if it is worth the trouble...
ON A SIDE NOTE.....
The moderators on this board do a wonderful job of keeping this board FAMILY oriented. On the above website, they call each other names I wouldn't even call my fishing partner!!!!
