I heard a rumor there were fish in the Kentucky river that runs through Frankfort,as far as Elkhorn creek,I'm pretty sure you can get access at the Fish Hatchery north of Frankfort.

Hey everyone,
I live in Frankfort, and due to the fact that I don't have a boat, my bankfishing opportunities are limited. Does anyone out there have a farm pond or private access to the Elkhorn, anywhere Franklin and surrounding counties, that would be kind enough to let me use? I will abide by any rules you might have and I promise to leave nothing behind but footprints.
I'm just looking for a change of scenery other the Game Farm or the river.
Thanks in advance,
JW

Try Taylorsville. The spillway below the dam, around any of the boat launches and the Salt River where it meets 248.
Elkhorn you can wade at the fish hatchery. That's where I usually go. Mon.-Fri. from 8am till 3:30 pm you can drive back to the creek. Just make sure you are gone by 3:30 or any other time park in the grass out by the bank and walk. If you go head left in the creek not right. You can also access elkhorn at the WMA on Sullivans lane. Only been there once and it is deep in places chest high or higher.
