Looking for a little help. The past several years I have done well trolling for Hybrid at Barren. I usually catch everything around Bailey's Point Campground and the Boat Ramp. This year I have been stumped. I have been everywhere from 10-20 ft. I have fished evenings and afternoons about twice a week the past few weeks. I am getting frustrated. Any suggestions beside giving up would be great!
Keep pluggin' away. With the cooler temps this summer, I don't think they have schooled up as much as usual. I was down a week ago and was unable to locate the thermocline with my electronics so I would guess that the fish are still pretty scattered. We were able to find plenty of bait and a few fish, but could get nothing to bite. I've heard that jigging over top of fish (when you can find them) has been working, but I have not tried it myself.
Try scouting some new areas and by all means, don't give up! One good fish can make your trip.
