    1st Yak Trip

This was my first trip out with my Yak. You can see my buddy Splitshot on his ODC. It was fun and we caught a few fish but had just as much fun scootin' down the riffles and enjoying the weather. It was cool out for sure!

Yep, there was plenty of water and it was a cool ride...

That first splash of water on my lap was EYE-OPENING on such a cool morning.

I'm ready to do it again!

Very nice! With those rods sticking out it looks like some bug antennas! LOL...
Seriously I have two on mine but am thinking of adding another toward the front so I can angle them down along the yak and reach forward to get another rod easily.
The ones behind me are harder to access.

I put the ones in front just to have a place to stick a rod when changing lures, releasing a fish etc... and normally only have the left or right one in, but I have been know to troll will all four lines out and have caught some good fish doing just that. I have even used planer boards, really no limit to what you can do with these kayaks. well, you know that. They are a lot of fun and a good work out.

I stay as snug as a bug in a rug in the winter time in this thing. Freezing line and cold hands are the limiting factor. I do have a hard time turning around to get at the rear hatch and rod holders when I have all the cold weather gear on + a life jacket. I've learned to reach back and grab the rods without looking at them, less turning/ twisting.

Yep I'm not as limber as I used to be so I try and keep everything in front of me or by my feet.
