    Indianapolis bass fishing help

Im from Ky and posted this on the KY forum without realizing we have an IN forum. I'll be working in Indianapolis for the next few months, staying at indylakes campground. I'll be bringing a 10ft jonboat and trolling motor and will be trying to bass fish on weekends and after work.

Ive been able to find a little info but not much. I know Eagle Creek and Geist are pretty close but I dont know anything about them really. Also, Ive heard I might have touble on the white river with my boat.

Can you guys help me out a little? Tell me a bit about what to expect with these lakes?

I'd look at Waveland and Eagle Creek. Giest in a 10 footer would be an adventure at best and a disaster at worst. IMHO Waveland would be a good fit with your boat and it has great fishing. Eagle creek would also be good though your limited on the places you could reach with just a trolling motor.

I would stay away from Waveland on the weekends. I've heard that they have a lot of tourneys there and the lake isn't that big. I would think Eagle Creek would be perfect or you could put in at Geist and just fish the slow side.

Hi Andy. As an owner of a 10 ft. Jon boat with trolling motor myself, I haven't fished Waverland or Geist, but Eagle Creek would be fine. You also might like Summit Lake, outside of New Castle. That's trolling or an idle only lake. My favorite places to fish with a Jon boat are the strip pits near Brazil, etc. Send me an e-mail and I can give you more info if you want....not much pressure on those.
