In my opinion the bite in NKY has been slow for a while. Hard fished area. Have had better luck at farm ponds. Had a great spring, give it another week with colder weather coming on it will be on.

I have been out on a small stream here in NKY to catch a few smallies and for some strange reason there isnt much biting? I thought fall would be the time the smallmouth would be strapping on the feedbags....what gives? Anyone else having this problem?

I hope so, I tried everything...slider worms, twister grubs, topwater, weecraw...I could see them swimmin around some of them had to be 1-2 lbs! only got about (4) 8" smallies to bite which was fun but sure would be nice to have a 20-30+ fish day for all the walking and wading I did. I they dont bite soon, I am going to dynomite!

I have not been out lately, but my guess is water temps have taken a pretty steep dive in the creeks compared to lakes. This can put them in a funk for awhile. Might try after 2-3 warm days and some sun. Problem is these have been few and far between with the rain. Hope they haven't moved to a winter pattern already. This can be very slow, but continue to try different baits including some shallow cranks and jig and pig. Good luck!
when you can see the fish try to sneak up on them without them seeing you and downsize throw a small grub.
