Any chance of the extended port being hit on rocks or a log while running?

Well, I can hear the water. But the nose cones are sealed. So, all you metal working Tim the tool man types, tell me if this would work.
A. I drill a hole about 1/2 inch big and **** the water out with a shop vac.
B. I goes to a aluminum welding shop, and have them weld over the whole about a 1 ich long pice of thick walled, and threaded aluminum tube.
c. I sticks me a PVC pipe plug in the threaded tube now attached to the nose cone.
I figure I'd now have a port to pressure test, and to get water out in the future. Any pro's or cons?
