I have been told that at dale hollow fishing for smallmouth that one of the best times to fish it is when its snowing. I have read articles that back this up. I have never been to dale hollow but planning a trip i hope this winter. Anybody ever fish dale when its been snowing and have any luck ????????
I don't think there has been much research on this topic, but winter fishermen seem to think snow activates bass. When it is snowing a number of things are occuring. One is low BP conditions and the other is lower light conditions. During these conditions larger bass, especially large females seems to move up in the water column. Plus, it is a beautiful time to be out on the water.
