I'll second that!
Water conditions are less than ideal for sure! Indian Creek in muddy with less that 1ft visibility. Wind driven chop was white capping today.

As of noon today, lake was at 691.3 feet and rising. River below Wolf Creek Dam at 561.9 feet (that up in the trees ) with a flow of 23,220 cubic feet/sec. Lake is colored, what I would describe as a gray-green. I estimated visibility at ~ 2 - 3 feet max. Observed some wood floating in the lake and expect a lot more with the rising water and windy conditions .
Docks at Halcombs and Pumpkin Creek are setting out in the lake with no way to get to them, not usable. Looks like the water conditions will be getting worse before they improve. No fishing for me this week or this weekend. If you get out there, be safe and keep a good eye out for floating trees, etc..

Burnside area is horrible no chance of visibility at all and lots of floaters. Bring a pitch fork if your headed out of there.
You think it's bad now boys wait till Spring. Awe but when that magic time comes and I get that special water color where it's just muddy enough and water temps in the upper 50's to low 60's and some chop, look out. Then me and my Spinnerbugs will be sore mouthing me some fatties, I can't wait for that time of year every year.
I just got a cold chill just thinking about it.
Appreciate the update. Was thinking of heading down this weekend. I'll save my gas money instead.

I take it we're off for this weekend, then?

Michael, no fishing for me this coming weekend. In addition to current water/ramp conditions, we are also looking at a possible winter storm with rain, freezing rain and snow. Don't want to be trying to launch a boat under those conditions. See Laterst weather forecast below:

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTH CENTRAL
INDIANA AND CENTRAL KENTUCKY.
.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.
SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS WILL MOVE THROUGH SOUTHERN INDIANA AND
CENTRAL KENTUCKY THIS MORNING. SOME LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF UP
TO ONE INCH WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS SOUTHERN INDIANA AND PORTIONS
OF NORTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY. SCATTERED SLICK SPOTS ARE POSSIBLE ON
AREA ROADWAYS...ESPECIALLY BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES AND ANY
UNTREATED ROADWAYS. MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE CAUTION DURING
THE MORNING COMMUTE.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.
THE LATEST WEATHER DATA CONTINUE TO SHOW THE POSSIBILITY OF A WINTER
STORM STRIKING MUCH OF THE OUTLOOK AREA BEGINNING THURSDAY NIGHT AND
CONTINUING INTO THE WEEKEND. A MIX OF RAIN OR SNOW IS LIKELY TO
DEVELOP LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT. WE MAY SEE A BRIEF BREAK OR VERY LIGHT
MIXED PRECIPITATION ON THURSDAY. AS COLDER AIR PUSHES SOUTH INTO
THE REGION...THE RAIN AND SNOW WILL CHANGE OVER TO ALL SNOW BY
THURSDAY NIGHT. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE ON FRIDAY AND INTO
SATURDAY. AT THIS TIME...THERE IS AN INCREASING LIKELIHOOD OF SNOW
ACCUMULATION WITH THIS SYSTEM WHICH WOULD CAUSE NEGATIVE TRAVEL
IMPACTS ACROSS THE REGION. AS WITH MANY WINTER STORMS IN THE OHIO
VALLEY...THERE IS STILL QUITE A BIT OF UNCERTAINTY WITH THE
EVOLUTION AND TRACK OF THIS WEATHER SYSTEM. THEREFORE...ADDITIONAL
ADJUSTMENTS WILL BE MADE TO FUTURE FORECASTS. IF YOU HAVE TRAVEL
PLANS FOR THE LATTER PART OF THE WEEK...STAY ABREAST OF THE LATEST
FORECASTS.
Yeah - it would probably be tough to fish and if the lake is trashed, there probably isn't much point.
Update: Jan 26, 696 ft and still rising! That's 16 feet above 680 ft target.

She is getting some rise now boys. All that rain upstream is finding it's way down. She is gonna get a good flushing, and just think the spring rains are just right around the corner.
We gonna need a us a Machetti, chain saw, bow saw, and an air boat to jump logs with this spring, lol.
I was on the lake Saturday 1/23 and the debris was really bad then. No solid log jams but whole trees floating by and 1/2 mile stretches where you had to constantly weave around to avoid the wood.
I busted the transducer off my boat again, the 3rd time in the last year and all 3 times it was from debris on Lake Cumberland. I can't imagine how bad the debris must be now.
