Hello all,
Myself and a few friends from work are coming down from Ky. to the great state of Alabama to fish the world famous lake Guntersville. We will probably be coming down the 3rd or 4th weekend in February Friday through Sunday. Staying around the Scottsboro area. The problem is NONE of us has ever been there! This will be are first trip of the fishing season and we are getting pumped! Would someone PLEASE help us out? You know the usual info... baits to throw etc.. Not wanting any honey holes, but we would really like to catch some of those fat TOADS!! Strictly catch and release for our crew. Hope to take alot of pictures! If you don't want to post here for everyone to read you can IM me or send me an email.

Thanks in advance and I will post a report and hopefully a few pictures when we return.

A group of Hoosiers go down there every year about that same time and we love it. Just fish the flats around 4-6 foot and throw rattlebaits til your arm falls off. Thats pretty much what I've done for 5-6 years now. Last year we went on the first weekend of March and had a dozen bass 0ver 5lbs and a few 7's. Not bad for a weekend, specialy for some Hoosiers. This year we will be there Feb. 25-29th. PM for more info. Those fish came with 20-30 2-4lbs'ers also. Great Place!
Thanks slimshad09, I appreciate the info.
From what I understand, this is a very good crankbait lake. I know for a fact that Gizz 4's in both deep and shallow divers are catching some big bass out of that lake.

Going your way from Indiana in March can you advise on campsites around Scottsboro.
Im another Hoosier thats been down there a few times. Last year we didnt get on the rattlebait bite but did catch some hawgs all week on jigs fishing wood and rocks, caught a 9 the first day I was there. shakey head worm works great too if you cant get on a rattle bite.
