    prop guards

Should a prop guard be used on the Cumberland River? I've been hearing both sides on this question.

Yes a Prop guard should be used in the CR in the summer when the water is low. You will hit the bottom and you do not want to get into water its cold.

Sorry to not have experience on this one Farmer, but I'm throwing it back to the top in hopes that you get an answer. I have the same question myself. I would imaging the ones that look similar to a skid plate on the bottom of your truck would be the most durable. The type that is more like a ring around the prop doesn't look like it would hold up very well. This is only an opinion.

There is someone on this board that has spoken more than once or twice on this very subject (Lowerider ?????) but didn't speak of the specific type. Hopeful that you get your answer.
