Way to go Col. I would pledge, but no way in H E double hockey sticks would I have jumped in.

I just jumped in Ky lake as part of the Polar Plunge to raise money for special olympics. I knew it would be cold, but it really takes the breath out of you. The worst part is, I had to do it in a pair of Speedo's only. Four of the special education teachers in the area, promised we would if our team raised 5,000 dollars - we raised over $9,000 from our team alone, and over $30,000 total from the area (much larger than we anticipated when the challenge was made). It was fun, but really opened up my eyes to how serious a fall in cold water could be. I am looking forward to doing it again next year, and I am glad we raised such a big chunk of money for much needed program that relies on donations and fundraising to operate.

In a Speedo------ Oh my eyes!!!!!!
Nice Job Col. And for a good cause.
Aint no way I'm jumping in 40 degree water with nothing on but a banana hammock...but I admire your charitable resolve!
Congrats....Very nice thing to do. I bet it was an eye opener!
Shrinkage??
speedos and 40 degrees...sounds like a sick joke of humiliation
I found a speedo that I used to wear all the time back in the 80's in my closet. My wife dared me to try it on . So I did. It hurt my eyes when I looked in the mirror. I think my wife pissed herself laughing!
That's a lot of sacrifice for your cause. (The speedo, not the water.)I just jumped in Ky lake as part of the Polar Plunge to raise money for special olympics. Great job.
Good job Col but my suggestion if you are going to jump into Kentucky Lake wait until August.
