The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is partially suspending repair work on the Wolf Creek Dam.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is partially suspending repair work on the Wolf Creek Dam.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reports that instruments used to monitor the dam's foundation indicate movement and increased *hydro-static pressure* on the dam.
Officials decided to suspend work on the dam while they evaluate the data.
Officials say the area of concern is the portion of the dam where the earthen embankment ties into the concrete section.
Officials want to make sure it is safe so the remainder of the concrete wall can be installed.
Work continues on other areas of the dam and officials say they do not foresee any changes to operations at Lake Cumberland.
Dam..............................................w ork is suspended! I tell you what, the CR just can win for losing! If it's not one thing, it's another! Lets just hope that it is nothing serious, and that they can get back to work ASAP!
