Just wondering if anyone else has caught any drum in the Evansville area out of small lakes. The lake I was fishing was fed by a canal and creek that hit the Ohio River about 5 miles downstream. I just moved to southwest indiana so I don't know if the lake was stocked with drum or if they swam up the creek into the lake. If anyone has any insight or information on similar occurence then please comment. I was just very surprised to be catching drum in a small lake, i have only caught them on large rivers.

They arnt stocked.. Some of the city lakes are close or connected to pigeon creek or the ohio river and they got trash fish, they just swim up those creeks. Sounds like burdette.. except for the 30 acre part, its more like 10, but its got all kinds of trash fish.. especially in the one connected to the canal. I've seen gar, carp, shad, grennel, all kinds of things in there.

It's pretty safe to say almost every lake around here is loaded with trash fish.
