    KY River Conditions?

I hear the main river around central KY is a bit muddy. Are the creeks "greening" up?

    Thanks

    Re: KY River Conditions?

    They might be by tomorrow.

The main river though is high and muddy and will be for a while after this upcoming weekend.

On a side note. I have had really good luck fishing the crks of the Ky when the water is really high. My theory is that the fish seek out the slower moving water of the creeks as a refuge from the fast water.

The only problem is that its really quite dangerous out on the Kentucky when its high. There are tons of floating debris that often are just under the surface. If you do lose your motor you can be swept sideways and be in serious trouble.
I have seen whole trees in the river floating down. It would be horrible to get caught in one.

    Re: KY River Conditions?

I drove over the river back from Richmond a couple hours ago and she is very muddy and rollin and with the flooding rains over the weekend it may be a while before she is fishable again.
