Strip pits?

Have read a lot about them and heard good things - never been. Looking at going in maybe a week or so. Will be fishing for bass/bluegill/crappie. Mostly bass.

Any tips on them and which ones I should try for? Will be fishing out of a canoe, so not motor and can walk it a little bit.

Heard good things about green-sul.
