I fish the ohio river a few nights a week and at least one day on the weekend. Just seeing if anyone is catching any thing out there. I have been catching a few small fish but nothin with any size. Catching most of them on a carolina rig around rock banks.

brinksguy and i have been wondering this same thing as neither of us have ever been on the ohio... and watching some city limits fishing has us wanting to try and catch some stuff downtown...
Amen to that. It certainly looks good as you are crossing the bridges downtown.
Fishing the Ohio River in Louisville is fun. I fish it at least once a week. Saturday I went out and caught 6 bass with the biggest being right at 3 pounds. Just fish the front part of the creeks and the main river docks. My favorite lure out there right now is the Zara Spook Jr. and Shakey Head. Try it out, the fishing can be pretty darn good out there.
I fish the cannelton pool. As a matter of fact my boat will be backing down the ramp at about 4:00 this afternoon. This rain shoulda cooled the water surface a litte hoping to get a top water bite going.
I fish it pretty regularly, out of Cox's Park. Actually have a little fun tournament every other week on Wed. from 6-9:30, $20 winner take all. Just to let you know how the fishing has been lately, it's only took 1 or 2 fish to win. This year has been tough in the fact that the fish just haven't stacked up on the main river yet - the water has stayed pretty well muddy for most of the year and the current has been fairly strong...it's had a negative impact on the submerged grass that normally forms along the banks, so much so that I'm seeing only about 50% of what I normally do for this time of year. Last year it was nothing to go out there and pick up a quick limit out of the grass in a couple of hours or less. So far this year has been all about the creeks.
Fishing the river is a whole lot different than fishing a lake. The conditions/current are always changing, so it's a lot of being on the right spot at the right time. As for lures, I've had the same 4 or 5 baits tied on all year, and have had continual success with them.
It's a lot of fun and if you haven't been out there yet, you're really missing out.
I think I've seen you up around the mouth of 14 mile - was up there last week on Wed., and saw a guy fishing a carolina rig. Was that you? I was in a red/maroon Ranger.
Nope that wasn't me I fish out of Brandenburg most times
