Reel Question

Hey everybody, im intrested in buying a new real for my 10ft catfish pole. I want to get a bait caster with a clicker. Does anybody know where i can find a good one for a resonable price? Or any good brands? I was looking at a Abu Garcia in a magazine for about 200. If you can help me out that be great.

Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 6600 bcx is the cheapest Abu you can find with a clicker. They sell new at Wal Mart for around $60 but you can find them on ebay for less.

I would suggest getting an older Ambassadeur 6000 or 7000 series depending on what you want to spend. The older ones last longer in my opinion and I have always had the best luck with Ambassadeurs over other brands.

You can look on ebay or the boards at bass boat central if youre looking for used reels. Bass Pro has a decent selection if you want to get a look at each reel before buying or if you wanna buy one new.

BPS sells a wide spool, knock off of the ABU, for 30 bucks, that has a clicker. I don't usually recommend BPS house reels, but I have had a couple of these on my cat rods for three years now, and have had no problems. Take into consideration, that I may catfish only 5 or 6 times a year.
