I killed gills/ears last weekend at Celina. Gills were on the smaller side, but ears were good and fat. Fish are DEEP, but when you find them, they are very aggressive. Caught a limit on redworms, on a 1/32nd jighead.

I was going to Hardy but my motor is getting worked on right now. My choice is Indian, Celina or Ferdinand State Forest Lake, not sure which one to go to. Looking for Bluegill/Redear and possibly crappie.
Where would you all go? Is Ferdinand a good panfish lake?

I really want to go to Celina but I've only been there three times in my life, we always fished Indian. At Indian it seems like the ears and gills are declining IMO, so won't go there.
How deep were the redear in Celina? I know Celina is a deep lake and has some big ears in it, just hard to find.
Bluegill were in open water here and there around 9'. The redear didn't bite until late in the day, but once they turned on, we filled the boat. Most all of them came out of 20' of water.
We ended up going to Ferdinand and caught a decent mess of redears with a few bluegills mixed in the group. Pretty little lake but my directions from map quest sucked. Finally got to the lake at 10 AM.
Fish caught in 7-10 feet of water on bottom, using redworms.
10am???? Mapquest is owned by the oil companies!!
