i agree for sure
Sauger are more particular about their spawning area than walleye. They need fast moving water over the shoals, that's why they are rarely caught out of lakes. In lakes the eggs get smothered by debris before they can hatch and the population eventually dies out.
They can however stand more turbid (muddy) water than walleye.
And I agree with you, don't eat fish from the Ohio, leave them for me.
