All, I was on WKYT.com this morning getting my fill of news and came across this story in which some pets were poisoned. The reporter states that someone in the state police names deer hunters as using poison in hot dogs to control coyotes. I've commented and sent an e-mail to both the news room and reporter that these comments are unnecessary, unfounded and portray deer hunters in an unfavorable light and demanded they be retracted. Please repost this wherever you can as I am at work and cannot access hunting forums. The link to the story is here:

The reporter's e-mail is Gabriel.Roxas@wkyt.com and the news room's is: newstip@wkyt.com
Please e-mail them and tell them your feelings about this story and pass it on to other hunters so they can do the same. It is this kind of sloppy journalism that is giving hunters a bad name to the general public.

Good job letting the truth be heard over the easy, shock headline. Studies have shown that coyotes are actually good for deer and turkeys (most commonly hunted big game) because coyotes' main food are mice, raccoons, and opossums, all competing for food supply with deer and turkeys. Plus, deer hunters tend to be dog lovers like me. Who'd risk poisoning a dog to kill a coyote? The reporter should've used their brain a little more.
