What's a "boater" mean? That he has a boat and needs a tourney partner?
@Cas
BFL is a Pro-Am tournament just like you see on FLW Outdoors.
In order for the guy who owns the boat(Pro) to have a guaranteed "Boater" status in the BFL's, He must bring a Guaranteed "Co Angler" or Non-Boater to the tournament with him. And they must be registered 2 weeks in advance before the Tournament. If not then it don't matter if they bring one or not. They will not be guaranteed to even get to fish.
In the past very seldomley does a boater get turned away but, I have seen Co-anglers go home without getting to fish because they didn't pay in before the deadline or, they didn't have a boater to have guaranteed status.
I have also seen Boater's not get their money in on time or not bring a Co-Angler, and get a Boater on Boater draw. Which is worse than getting sent home .
Hope that clears it up some for you.
