I am looking for information on fishing the Cumberland tailwater. I have never been and I don't know what to expect.Any information would be helpful. I have a kayak and would like know which I should do. Bank fish or float it?Where can you put in and take out? When is the best time of year to fish it? What type of lures/gear work? I have very little experience with trout and no experience with Cumberland River. Again any information will be helpful. Thanks.
fishing from a kayak is fun but you have to have someone downstream to pick you up because you are not going to be able to paddle back up stream. orange powerbait on light line or yellow roostertails are working right now. Royal coachman and small beadhead nymphs are good on a fly rod. they are not generating till 10 in the morning so water is fairly calm
