You can't use that for snagging. Max legal length in KY is 7.5 ft for snagging.
Sounds like a good surf rod though!

I have a 11'6" Tica TC2 Spinning Rod that throws 4 to 10 oz, paired with a daiwa emcast sport 5000 Spinning Reel. The reel has been used 2 times and the rod about maybe 6 times. $90.00 for the rod and reel.

I got this rod a few years ago for a backup surf rod, never really used it but for a few times and I thought to myself if I ever wanted to snagg spoonbill I would have a heavy rod. I never did use it but to sit in the house in the rod holders. Is this 7.5 foot rule something new, I used to see guys snagging at meldahl with surf rods, thanks for bringing it up I never new until I just looked it up in the regs book.
That rule has been around as long as I can remember - I started snagging back in '98
This show was filmed at Meldahl in Bracken County and I am wanting to say a year ago. http://www.myoutdoortv.com/wildlife/...and-paddlefish if doesnt play just go to the bottom and fast forward alittle and it should resume shortly.

I don't know if there are special regulations in effect at Meldahl or not...but I know the KY Fishing Guide clearly states that rods cannot be longer than 7.5 ft. The snagging rod I have is exactly 7.5 ft
